Day 4

Tuesday morning it was up early again and on the private mini bus to Siem Reap.

The gateway to Angkor it’s old French shophouses and tree lined boulevards may inevitably give way to hotels and the grab for tourist dollars. Siem Reap means, ’Siamese defeated’, ironic considering the Thai ruled over this area from 1794 to 1907.

We checked into the 'Freedom' Hotel and went to the trendy 'Dead fish Café' for lunch.

After lunch we went by tuk tuk out to Angkor Wat.

Elephant bar for cocktails that night followed by dinner at Arun restaurant. We finished the night off at the Foreign Correspondent Club for drinks.
